John Parrott:
Gary, explain some of the different ways you can bet using "The Performance Factor" and what the
terms means.
Gary Jay:
You can utilise the information in many ways, but if you are looking to generate a consistent long-term profit, we would strongly recommend following our Selective Investments, including staking, exactly as given.

It is important that you never bet beyond your means and I would recommend starting with a betting bank that you can set aside. Divide the bank by 50 and use this amount as the value assigned to each point staked. Once a month I would recommend reassessing your staking on the same principal.
I would recommend opening an account with one of the leading betting exchange sites as these offer additional opportunities to High Street Bookmakers. Details of the leading exchange sites can be found in our "Betting Tools" section.
Below is a summary of some of the bets currently available:
Win Bet
A Straight Win bet to recommended stakes.
For example, a £5 win bet at 5/1 returns £30 (5x5 = £25 + £5 stake)
Place Bet
These bets are only available on the exchanges and involve backing a horse to be placed.
For example , a £5 place bet at 2/1 returns £15 (2x5 = £10 + £5 stake)
Dutch
A method of backing more than one horse in a race, ensuring a profit if one of them wins. Stakes on each are calculated based on the odds available for each horse, and a we have a superb tool called the "Dutching Calculator" which does all the complicated maths for you.
Exotics
This is another term for multiple bets such as forecast, exacta, trifecta, tricast etc, and also includes such multiple bets as Doubles, Trebles, Yankees etc.
Lay Bet
This bet involves backing a horse to be beaten, although the potential liability can be high. I would always restrict my Lay bets to the first two in the market.
